When I first thought of parasailing, I wasn’t sure if it was an idea or dream, either way I didn’t know if I wanted to or not. I was probably in my Junior year of high school. When it was at least a thought. Still to this day I don’t know where the idea or thought came from, but it piqued my interest.
As the days, years kept going by, I was still unsure either way. Then one day I said to myself I’m going! The first chance I get!
The Day Of
I was having a great day with my daughter and grandchildren when someone mentioned Lake George. We went to get my boyfriend ( at the time) so he could go with us. And, we get there and was walking around in Lake George looking at different stuff, enjoying the weather. We had decided to have lunch at a restaurant on the beach. We finished our meal, walking, sightseeing, we were walking down a little hill towards the beach, and I seen a sign with the word “parasailing” on it, (if it said more I don’t know). I seen the magic word Parasailing! Immediately, arrangements were made for my boyfriend to watch the grandchildren while my daughter and I went parasailing! AWE!
The Memory that is Forever
So, finally my daughter and I got to go. And the boyfriend watched the grandchildren. What made it bitter sweet was I never knew she has always wanted to do it also. We went up together. It was such an amazing experience all the way around, we were together doing what we both have been wanting to do! Also, it was so peaceful, with a great view above the lake and its surroundings.
For me it’s hard to find words that describe the feelings that went through me all at once not counting emotions it was serene! I really didn’t want to come down, my daughter and I wish we could’ve stayed up there forever! It’s a exciting lifetime experience!
I will never forget that moment we had together as mother and daughter, since its been awhile since we could do something just the two of us! My boyfriend and the grandchildren were watching from below in awe. They were having a blast with arcade games and ice cream while we were enjoying ourselves in peace…
Looking Back
Although it took many years to come to the decision to realize it was more than a thought, it ended up being a dream that became a reality! I would do it again in a heartbeat if I could, no guessing to that! Anyone not afraid to have peace, and it be serene, this you must try! It’s UNBELIEVABLE! It’s so hard to fit words to describe everything this amazing experience, that I finally got to do!
So, if you ever have the chance to do something you only dreamed about, JUST DO IT! Never miss an opportunity to make a dream a reality. You just may have a marvelous time with whatever your dream may be. Have a child like mind as you grow older because as we age we might find it harder to do or achieve what we have been waiting for. Be open to every dream. Who knows you may even surprise yourself.
I’m sure if people would be honest with themselves, there are dreams that they have and may be able to fulfill to become a reality, so it’s not just a dream anymore. Ponder the thought of your dreams, then make it a reality like I did. Enjoy the moment of what, how you are feeling during this time. After, you will know exactly what I’m talking about. Enjoy!
